The Federal Council proposes to increase the deduction for compulsory health insurance and accident insurance premiums in direct federal tax.
Married couples are now to be able to deduct up to CHF 6,000 (previously: CHF 3,500). For other persons, the amount is to increase from CHF 1,700 to CHF 3,000. At the same time, premiums for non-compulsory health insurance and life insurance as well as interest on savings capital are no longer to be deductible.
