The Federal Council has approved the report entitled "Releasing the brakes on sustainable financial products". The report concludes that the abolition of stamp duties on sustainable financial products is not expedient.
This was prompted by a postulate of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of the Council of States. The abolition of stamp duties for sustainable financial products does not promote a more climate-friendly economy; moreover, parliament has in the meantime decided to abolish the emissions levy.
