Federal Council adopts totally revised Real Estate Costs Ordinance

The Federal Council adopted the completely revised Real Estate Costs Ordinance at its meeting on March 9, 2018.

The totally revised Real Estate Costs Ordinance puts into concrete terms the new deductions for homeowners from the direct federal tax, which were decided in the course of the Energy Strategy 2050.

The Federal Council has published the following documents in this context:

• Report on the results of the consultation procedure on a total revision of the Ordinance on the Deduction of Costs of Real Estate Property held as Private Assets from Direct Federal Tax

• Ordinance on the Deduction of Costs of Privately Owned Real Estate from Direct Federal Tax

• Explanatory notes on the total revision of the Ordinance on the Deduction of Costs of Privately Owned Real Estate for Direct Federal Tax

The totally revised Property Costs Ordinance will come into force on 1 January 2020.
