The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) has updated the lists of legislative and ordinance amendments relating to direct federal tax, value added tax, withholding tax and stamp duties. The list contains amendments in which the FTA is significantly involved or for whose implementation it is responsible.

The following legislation or regulation is expected to become effective:

  • Federal law on the tax treatment of financial penalties on 01.01.2022;
  • Code of Obligations (Stock Corporation Act) expected 01.01.2022;
  • Federal law on electronic procedures in the tax area no earlier than 01.01.2022;
  • Amendment to the Federal Withholding Tax Act (extension of the temporary exemptions for mandatory convertible bonds, bonds with debt waivers and bonds convertible or reducible under the Banking Act) expected 01.01.2022;
  • Amendment of the ordinance on withholding tax on 01.01.2022;
  • Ordinance of the FDF on the deduction of professional expenses of dependent employees for direct federal tax (Professional Expenses Ordinance) no earlier than 01.01.2022;
  • New ordinance of the FDF on interest rates on arrears and remuneration on taxes and levies and amendment of the ordinance on the due date for payment of and interest on direct federal tax no earlier than 01.01.2022;
  • Federal law on the change of system for the taxation of residential property 01.01.2023 at the earliest;
  • Amendment of the federal law on stamp duties no earlier than 01.01.2023;
  • Federal law on withholding tax 01.01.2023 at the earliest;
  • Federal law on the taxation of life annuities and similar forms of pension provision 01.01.2023 at the earliest;
  • Partial revision of the Value Added Tax Act (further development of value added tax in a digitalised and globalised economy) and the Value Added Tax Ordinance no earlier than 01.01.2023;
  • Amendment of the Federal Value Added Tax Act no earlier than 01.01.2023;
  • Amendment of the federal law on the military service levy no earlier than 01.01.2023.
