On 2 June 2020, the Conference of Cantonal Finance Directors (FDK) published a press release on the popular initiative "Relieve the burden on wages, tax capital fairly".
According to the press release, the FDK rejects the so-called 99 percent initiative. In the opinion of the FDK, the initiative means a deterioration in tax attractiveness for the cantons, an encroachment on their fiscal sovereignty and a restriction of their financial autonomy.
