The statistics show a new record for the number of taxable persons registered in the VAT register.
According to a media release by the FTA on 22 November 2021, for the first time in the history of VAT, the statistics record more than 400,000 businesses. At the end of October 2021, exactly 400,775 companies were entered in the VAT register of taxable persons. This corresponds to an increase of around 10% compared to 2015.
In addition, the FTA receives 91.6% of the submitted VAT statements in electronic form, of which more than a quarter are accounted for by the "VAT statement easy" introduced this year. The registrations for the VAT obligation are now almost exclusively made digitally.
