At its meeting on 27 February 2017, the National Council rejected a postulate to draw up a report on the origins, development and effects of tax competition in Switzerland.

According to a postulate of the Socialist Group (15.3096), the Federal Council should be commissioned to have the origin, development and effects of tax competition in Switzerland analysed in a report. The necessary analysis and the preparation of the corresponding report should preferably be carried out by an independent university institute.

In its session of 27 February 2017, the National Council (first chamber) rejected the postulate by 55 votes to 137 with 0 abstentions.
