The National Council adopts a motion at its meeting of 8 March 2017 instructing the Federal Council to propose to Parliament an amendment to the Value Added Tax Act (VAT Act).

According to the motion by Stefan Engler (16.3431), the MWSTG should be amended in particular to the effect that oriented subsidies are not subject to value-added tax if they are oriented to the fulfilment of fundamental statutory tasks.

The National Council thus follows the first-mentioned Council of States and adopts the motion by 120 votes to 42 with 10 abstentions.
