In its session of 6 March 2018, the National Council adopted a postulate "Aggressive tax policies of individual EU and OECD countries".

According to the postulate of Giovanni Merlini (17.3065) "Aggressive tax policies of individual EU and OECD countries", the Federal Council should be mandated to submit a report outlining the current relations between the EU and the OECD on the one hand and Switzerland on the other in matters of the taxation of individuals and legal entities. Particular attention should be paid to aggressive forms of tax policy and to the black list of tax havens adopted by the European Commission on 6 July 2016.

The Federal Council requested that the postulate be rejected.

The National Council adopted the postulate in its session of 6 March 2018 by 168 votes to 21 (with 0 abstentions).
