On 15 April 2020, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published the comments received on the standard for the exchange of platform operators in the "Sharing and Gig Economy". The OECD had publicly invited comments in mid-February 2020.

The background to this is that the market for online platforms in the "sharing and gig economy" sector is growing rapidly and changing many sectors of the economy. As part of this change, tax administrations need to adapt in order to be able to tax taxpayers for income flowing from such platforms.
