For VAT invoicing, online invoicing will be the new standard and the paper form will be replaced.
According to a press release issued by the FTA, the federal government's e-government strategy aims to make government services easily and electronically accessible. This will reduce the time and effort required for administrative transactions, increase the efficiency of the administration and strengthen the attractiveness of Switzerland as a business location. As a result, in future it will only be possible to order and submit the paper forms for VAT statements to the FTA in exceptional cases.
