In its session of 26 February 2018, the Council of States rejected four professional initiatives and one motion on the subject of marriage penalty and individual taxation.
The following transactions were affected:
- Aargau Stand initiative. Abolition of the marriage penalty (16,318)
- Zurich Stand initiative. Transition to individual taxation (06,302)
- Standesinitiative Bern. Transition from married couple and family taxation to individual taxation independent of civil status. Change (07.305)
- Basel-Stadt Standesinitiative. Transition to individual taxation (08,318)
- Motion FK-NR. individual taxation also in Switzerland. Finally moving forward (16.3006)
The four stand-up initiatives and the motion were not followed up.
