In accordance with the Federal Law on Radio and Television (RTVG), the Federal Tax Administration (FTA) has been mandated to levy the radio and TV tax on companies from 1 January 2019. The FTA thus replaces Billag as the collection agency.
According to a press release issued by the FTA, the duty of taxation for companies is now based on the turnover declared in the VAT statement. Six tariff categories are envisaged. Companies subject to the levy will automatically receive an invoice in the course of 2019. Under certain conditions, businesses and autonomous departments of local authorities may form a tax group.
