At its meeting on 14 September 2018, the Federal Council decided to bring the revised Federal Act on the Compulsory Military Compensation Act (WPEG) into force on 1 January 2019.
According to the revised WPEG, the period of liability to pay compensation now runs from the 19th to the 37th year of age, with a maximum of 11 substitute levies being levied. In addition, a new final replacement levy will be introduced for military and civilian servants who are dismissed at the end of their compulsory service and who have not fully complied with the overall service obligation.
