On August 14, 2019, the Federal Council adopted the supplementary dispatch on the amendment to the Federal Act on Direct Federal Taxation (Balanced taxation of couples and families).
The supplementary message contains new or updated estimates to the March 2018 message, which, based on the updated estimate of the financial impact, will result in a reduction in direct federal tax revenues of around CHF 1.5 billion. Of this amount, around CHF 1.2 billion is attributable to the Confederation and around CHF 300 million to the cantons.
