The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) announced on 24 April 2021 that more than 80 per cent of all companies subject to VAT already bill online after online billing replaced paper billing as the standard at the beginning of the year.
While 65 percent of taxpayers use the existing accounting portal "ESTV SuisseTax", three months after its introduction already 15 percent prefer the accounting tool "MWST-Abrechnung easy".
A total of 320,000 companies bill online, and within two years the number of online billers has more than doubled.
