At its meeting on 31 May 2017, the National Council, as the first Council to deal with the matter, rejects a motion concerning the taxation of the domicile of retired customs and border guard staff resident in the Principality of Liechtenstein.

According to the motion by Louis Schelbert (16.3031), the Federal Council should be instructed to release retired customs and border guard employees who retain their residence in the Principality of Liechtenstein after retirement from withholding tax and make them subject to domicile taxation. The Federal Council proposes that the motion be rejected.

The National Council (first-degree council) rejected the motion in its session of 31 May 2017. The matter is now closed.
