According to the expert report dated 17 November 2019, the FSO and the FTA are of the opinion that the current statistical basis is insufficient to enable the FSO to satisfactorily fulfil its legal tasks in the area of direct taxation in the fields of statistics and planning.
The legal opinion concludes that the Confederation has the legal basis to obtain direct tax data from the cantonal tax authorities.
